Year-Round Programs

Grey Havens YA (Young Adult): A philosophy discussion group for grades 6-12 that meets every Saturday, 2-4 p.m., at Firehouse Art Center, 4th and Coffman in Longmont. We are an inclusive group that is perfect for tweens and teens of all abilities. If your child is interested, please complete our Newcomer Form.

Friday Philosophy at Crossroads Alternative School: Weekly philosophy discussions and critical thinking exercises with both middle-school classes.

HOPE (Homeless Outreach Providing Encouragement) Partnership: Twice monthly philosophy discussions with shelter residents in HOPE for Longmont’s navigation program.

Prefects/Junior Prefects: Four groups at Erie Community Library and Carbon Valley Library that discuss big ideas and engage in critical thinking while sharing their love of Harry Potter. Junior Prefects are ages 8-11. Prefects are 12-18. For dates and times and to register visit, click on “Erie Events” or “Carbon Valley Events” or call 888-861-7323.

Intergenerational Philosophy: Monthly philosophy discussions for all ages at Longmont Senior Center. These are always listed in the Longmont Go Catalog. Call 303-651-8411 to register.

Think & Drink Discussions: Philosophy discussions for adults at St. Vrain Cidery, Still Cellars: a distillery and arthouse, and other local breweries (at least monthly). Check our calendar for dates and times.

St. Vrain Cidery hosts a Harry Potter Think & Drink for adults on the 4th Tuesday of every month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Arrive early to grab a seat!

Animé-niacs: Animé Discussion Group for Adults: A monthly discussion of philosophical questions raised by popular animé episodes. In partnership with Longmont Public Library. Fourth Wednesday of every month in the library’s Unquiet Study Area. Drop-in, free, age 18+.

Contemplative Reading Group: Apply sacred reading practices to secular texts. Contemplative Reading helps you to get the most out of literature and life! 3rd Thursday of every month, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Firehouse Art Center.
