These practices open up a whole new world of reading experiences and provide new and deeper perspectives on life. We’ll teach you how to apply sacred reading practices to secular texts. Contemplative Reading helps you to get the most out of literature and life!
No prior experience necessary!
You will need: Something to write on. A journal or notebook is recommended to continue this practice in future but good ole paper is fine too.
Something to write with. Pens, pencils, markers, whatever works for you.
This month we’ll be working with the essay Why are Americans Afraid of Dragons? by Ursula K. LeGuin.
You can read it before the meeting here: https://docs.google.com/…/0B7rzOQ7Qtm1TbEZpNlhaNld…/edit
or you can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hrr7AbSv1BA
You can read them beforehand but it is not required to understand and enjoy the practice.
